Hit by Live Ball — Runner is Out
✓ AcceptedBaserunning
Any runner touched by a live ball is out, regardless of whether the fielder intentionally pegged them or the ball simply hit them.
Foul Ball Halo Around Home Plate
✓ AcceptedGameplay
A halo zone will be marked around home plate for foul ball purposes, preventing collisions between the catcher and the batter on foul tips.
Bases Loaded Force Out at Home
✓ AcceptedGameplay
With the bases loaded, a fielder may throw and hit the strike zone to record a force out at home plate. Play is dead if the throw hits the zone; live if it misses.
One Base on Out-of-Bounds Overthrow
✓ AcceptedBaserunning
If an overthrow goes out of bounds (past the dugout or over the fence), all runners advance one base. An overthrow into the outfield remains a live ball.
Substitute Eligibility: Neighborhood and Age Requirements
✓ AcceptedTeams
Substitutes must be from the Lake Wilborn neighborhood or surrounding area and must be 13 years of age or older.
No Substitutes in Playoffs
✓ AcceptedTeams
Substitute players are not permitted during playoff games. Only rostered players who appeared in at least 2 regular season games are eligible.
Large Base and Halo Rule at All Bases
✓ AcceptedGameplay
Large bases will be used at all bases. The halo rule (preventing collisions) applies at 1st, 2nd, and 3rd base for both runners and fielders.
Run Through the Bag Rule
✓ AcceptedBaserunning
Runners may run through any base safely. If a runner makes any move toward the next base after running through, they are in play and may be tagged or pegged out. An overthrow on a run-through play is live.
Pitch Speed Limit with Radar Gun
✗ RejectedPitching
A radar gun will be purchased and a maximum pitch speed will be enforced. Any pitch exceeding the limit is ruled a no-pitch. The specific speed threshold is to be determined.
Pegging the Lead Runner Ends the Play
✓ AcceptedBaserunning
If a fielder pegs the lead runner, the play is immediately dead. The lead runner and any trailing runners may still advance on the throw.
Teenager Rules Formalized
✓ AcceptedTeams
Captains must agree on any sub arrangements involving teenage players before the game. Teenage players are subject to all the same rules as adult players — no special exceptions.
Pitcher Innings Cap — 2 Innings Per Game
✓ AcceptedPitching
Pitchers would be limited to a maximum of 2 innings per game (down from the current 3). Any appearance in an inning counts as a full inning pitched.
Ground Rule Double
✓ AcceptedBaserunning
A batted ball that lands in fair territory and bounces out of play awards all runners, including the batter, two bases from their position at the time of the pitch.
Proposed and adopted at the captains' meeting — not part of the original vote.
